THE AVAANA WAY

We design time in wild places, with people who belong there.

Our story

Avaana is the work of Meet Muchhala and Riya Bhoomkar. Between us, we've spent years in forests, grasslands and mountains across India and Kenya, often in the company of people who knew far more about them than any guidebook.

Those people changed how we travel. A tracker who read a whole night's events from the dust. A herder who could tell a lion's mood from its walk. A young guide in the Himalaya who spotted a red panda we had walked straight past.

In most tourism, they were treated as staff. We wanted to build something where they are the authors. So every Avaana journey begins in the landscape, in conversation with the people who live there, and is shaped together from the first idea.

Design matters.

We believe the details matter. The right naturalist can change the way you see a forest. The right lodge can make you feel part of a landscape rather than simply a visitor in it. The right local guide can introduce you to a side of a place no guidebook could.

So we obsess over the details. Not because luxury means everything must be polished, but because thoughtful travel means knowing when to plan meticulously and when to leave room for the unexpected.

WHAT WE HOPE YOU TAKE HOME

Not souvenirs. Not a checklist. Something harder to define.
